JAY LAKIN

Lakin’s career in the sports industry includes having served as the Vice President of Sales Marketing for the Oklahoma City Blazers professional hockey club. During his tenure with the Blazers he garnered several achievements and awards, including the 2003 CHL Corporate Partnership Sales Executive of the Year, the 2002-03 and 2006-07 Blazers Employee of the Year, the June 2004 CHL Employee of the Month, and the 2004-05 CHL Ticketing Executive of the Year.

 

In addition to his sales and marketing responsibilities with the club, he also served as the Director of Game Operations and Entertainment. His responsibilities included the game presentation, writing the game night script, creating and managing in-game contests and promotions, and fan entertainment experience. Jay is currently in his fifth year serving as the President of Shields Pipe Corporation. He oversees sales of $120 million annually. Shields Pipe is a leading distributor of Oil Country Tubular Goods. He also owns a promotional marketing company, Blue Print Graphics, specializing in branded promotion products and apparel for companies, and he serves on the board for the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. Jay is married to wife Kayla, and the couple are proud parents of two kids, Jace and Kambri.
